How to join our team
Good job applications make a positive impression and can lead to an interview or further assessment. Don’t apply just for the sake of it - a government job application addressing each selection criteria is a solid piece of work - and it takes time and commitment.
Select the right job for you and prepare a strong (and accurate) application highlighting your skills, abilities and experience, and how these meet the requirements of the job. Your application will be assessed on the basis of merit. It is important to provide all the information specified.

Shortlisted applicants are contacted by phone and email
If you are not shortlisted for an interview you will be informed by email
Interview
There are usually 3 people on the interview panel
Interviews can be held face to face or virtually via Zoom
If a face-to-face interview is needed it will be arranged under our COVID Safe plan
Ensure you are prepared for your interview, read the position description and be ready to talk about your skills and experience in similar work situations
Make sure you are familiar with our values and think about how you will add to our culture
Virtual Interviews
You will need a computer with a webcam, headphones and a microphone.
Check your internet connection and equipment beforehand
Background Checks
Health assessments – your fitness is assessed against the job requirements
Drug and alcohol testing is a part of this process (a positive test result means the recruitment process ends and your application will not be considered).
National Police Check
VEVO Check
Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Other position specific checks
Reference Checks (minimum 2 and should ideally be your current and most recent supervisor.
