Welcome to the Snowy Monaro Cemetery Search and Mapping Tool

This platform helps you search for registered burial sites across the region’s cemeteries and pinpoint their locations on an interactive map. Before you begin, please note the following tips to ensure successful searches:

How to Use the Search Tool

  • Choose a Cemetery: Searches work best when you to select a specific cemetery from the dropdown list. Broad searches across all cemeteries require the input of either year-of-death information and/or name information in order to work.
  • Name-Based Search: Use a surname or first name to begin your search.
  • Year-Based Searches:
    • Search using the year of death instead of the interment year. Interment dates are not consistently available in our historical records.
    • Include a range of years (e.g., 1950 to 1980) for better results.
  • Point of Interest Tab: This feature is under development and currently unavailable. It will be introduced in a future update.

Double-check the details entered if your search returns "No records found". The tool is sensitive to incomplete or overly broad inputs.

Please note: Some searches will return a result of "unknown" for the interment plot. For some older burials, plot location was not recorded. We continue to work to update our records to address these historical oversights, and appreciate your understanding.
