Description of Work
The memorial Ski Chair is dedicated to Oskar Luhn, a victim of the 1997 Thredbo landslide. On the 31st July 1997, in the Australian Alpine ski resort of Thredbo, part of the hillside below the alpine roadway above the village slipped. 3500 tonnes of debris demolished two ski lodges, Carinya with one inhabitant and Bimbadeen with 18 residents. Only one person survived.

Oskar was a long term employee of Kosciuszko Thredbo who lived in Bimbadeen, and was killed in the road collapse. Oskar worked in maintenance and a Crackenback Chair was donated to symbolise his many hours of working on the chairlifts at Thredbo.
