Cooma Regional Sports Hall project kick-off this week
Published on 31 October 2022
Snowy Monaro sports fans of all ages can rejoice, with the long-awaited kick-off of construction on the Cooma Regional Sports Hall set for Tuesday 1 November 2022.
Once complete, this high quality three-court sports hall will provide our region with a tournament-ready facility, ready to serve as the Snowy Monaro’s home for netball, basketball, futsal, volleyball and more.
A sod-turning to mark the official commencement of works will be held the afternoon of Tuesday 1 November, where Snowy Monaro Regional Council Mayor Narelle Davis will be joined by Nichole Overall MP, Member for Monaro, and representatives from the NSW Government and Monaro High School to launch the project.
Providing our communities with access to high quality and purpose-built facilities means everyone in our community has a greater opportunity to stay healthy, active and connected.
Indoor sports facilities are essential for communities like ours, living in one of the coldest parts of Australia. The Cooma Regional Sports Hall will soon allow athletes of all ages to take part in sport year-round.
This project is scheduled for completion in August 2023 and we will keep you updated as work progresses.
The new regional-level indoor facility is funded by the NSW Government, delivering on a 2019 election commitment.
