Snowy Monaro Regional Council is pleased to announce its strong performance in development application (DA) processing times, as reflected in the recently released NSW Government's Council league table.

Key highlights:

  • Currently sitting at 79 calendar days, Council’s average DA assessment time is significantly lower than both the NSW state average (114 days) and the NSW regional average (100 days).

  • For residential developments, Council's 61 day average processing time also outperforms the state average (113 days) and regional average (102 days).

  • Council's 11-day lodgement average is well below both state (17 days) and regional (21 days) averages.

‘These figures demonstrate that we are performing well compared to many other councils. We're particularly pleased to see our assessment times coming in below both state and regional averages, which is a great result for our community,’ said Snowy Monaro Regional Council CEO David Hogan.

The Council league table, part of the NSW Government's Faster Assessments program, aims to increase transparency and accountability in the development application process across the state.

‘While we're proud of our current performance, we recognise there's always room for improvement,’ said Mr Hogan.

‘We're committed to continuously refining our processes to better serve our residents and contribute to addressing housing needs in our region.’
