More time to have your say on the Financial Sustainability Review

The public consultation on the independent Financial Sustainability Review into Snowy Monaro Regional Council has been extended, with survey responses and written submissions accepted until 11.59pm Sunday 6 November 2022.

Council has extended the consultation due to high levels of community interest and the importance of this review.

Council’s Your Say page is live with an online survey and an optional open-format written submission form for you to share your thoughts.

Professional audit consultants AEC Group Ltd (AEC) are undertaking a Financial Sustainability Review, including providing an independent assessment of the financial sustainability of Council and strategies for improvement.

AEC has been reviewing and analysing Council’s financial activity pre and post-merger to collate a clear picture of past financial performance, current activity and are drafting a clear plan and recommendations for the future.

The final report, recommendations and results of the community survey will be presented at the Council Meeting on Thursday 17 November 2022.

The Your Say page (link below) contains an Introduction to the Financial Sustainability Review of Snowy Monaro Regional Council, which provides the community with the necessary information to provide informed feedback.

Printed copies of this fact sheet are available from every Council office on request.

In addition to the online community survey, community members and organisations are encouraged to make a written submission to further inform future decision-making.

Submissions can also be made in hard-copy to the Chief Executive Officer by post or by dropping off at any Council office. These will be provided in full to AEC.
