The Snowy Monaro welcomed 13 new citizens at an Australian citizenship ceremony on Friday 16 September 2022 as part of Australian Citizenship Day celebrations.
The conferees became Australian citizens as part of a ceremony conducted by Mayor Narelle Davis held at Cooma Multicultural Centre, with Federal Minister for Regional Development, Local Government and Territories Kristy McBain and NSW Minister for Women, Minister for Regional Health, and Minister for Mental Health Bronnie Taylor in attendance.
The ceremony is one of hundreds of ceremonies across Australia that will see thousands of people officially become new citizens for Australian Citizenship Day.
Australian Citizenship Day provides an occasion for individuals, schools, community organisations and organisations to reflect on the contributions of citizens to our local communities.
