Tayfield Road, Paddys Flat closed at Nivens Bridge from early February
Published on 22 January 2025
Residents and motorists are advised that Tayfield Road will be closed at Nivens Bridge over Saucy Creek, located approximately 13km southeast of Bombala in Paddys Flat, between 6am and 6pm from Monday 3 February 2025 to Thursday 6 February 2025.
Council will perform essential maintenance works on the single-lane wooden bridge to ensure its continued safety and serviceability for road users in the area.
Dates and times for this work are all weather permitting. Council will issue an updated notice in the event of any changes to this schedule.
Please plan your travel around the work hours of 6am to 6pm, Monday 3 February to Thursday 6 February 2025, or take an alternative route, accounting for additional travel time.
Residents to the north of the bridge should detour via Bucky Springs Road to Bombala.
Residents to the south of the worksite should follow Tayfield Road southwest to connect with the Monaro Highway.
Additional traffic control measures will remain in-place outside of work hours over the three days that bridge maintenance is in progress. Motorists are asked to observe all roadworks signage and exercise additional caution in the area during this time.
Council appreciates the local community’s cooperation and understanding while this essential work is underway.
