Welcome! The Snowy Monaro is an incredible region with a wide range of activities to discover and provides a unique and broad backdrop to host events.
Nestled in nature and bustling with adventure, the Snowy Monaro Region is so much fun. From skiing and snowboarding in winter to mountain biking, hiking and immersing yourself in a mountain stream in summer, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
We are here to help make sure events are safe and successful, and run smoothly across all our superb venues and facilities. Go on, host your event in our wonderful region!

Event Approval
We want to keep everyone safe while having fun at your event. There are some legislations to follow, plus, a few forms you will need to complete prior to holding an event in the Snowy Monaro.
First, complete and lodge the Snowy Monaro Notice of Intention to Organise and Event(PDF, 82KB) form, including as much detail about your event as possible.
An event response will outline any Council approvals required.
The following are some examples of activities that require additional approval:
We recommend allowing a minimum of six months for event notifications to allow time for any of the above approval processes which include applications submitted to scheduled meetings.

Events that impact local roads
If you are planning to organise an event in our region and it impacts local roads, you need to ensure you provide an application to the Local Traffic Committee Roads Act.
Applications to the Local Traffic Committee require a 90 day turnaround as there are many stakeholders and agencies involved in making this happen to ensure your event is safe for our community.
