What are we doing?
The proposed upgrades will significantly improve the sporting amenities for the Bombala district by providing facilities that support and encourage increased participation and all abilities attendance at sporting events held at the ground. Underpinning social gatherings and general health and wellbeing within this sport focused community.
Works to be completed include:
Stage 1
- Construct DDA compliant linkway connecting existing facilities
- Construct three external seating areas for spectators
- Complete the construction plans for Grandstand having it shovel ready for future funding.
Stage 2 - once further funding secured
- Construct new Grandstand
- Construct new Netball Court
Latest Update
Having secured grant funding to deliver the stage 1 upgrades to the Bombala Sporting Facilities, Council plan to go out to tender in January 2025 pending approval.
Included in the stage 1 works is construction of a Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliant link-way connecting existing facilities and construction of three external, tiered seating areas for spectators.
Under the stage 1 funding Council has also completed the construction plans for the grandstand so as to have a “shovel ready” design as we seek future funding. The construction of a new grandstand, along with a new netball court, comprise the second and final stage of the Bombala Sporting Facilities Upgrade.
